Tasked with designing and translating an informational website about a social movement from a non-native country, while incorporating its cultural context. I focused on South Korea’s 4B movement, which centers on women choosing to opt out of traditional expectations around marriage, dating, childbirth, and relationships. The term “4B” comes from four Korean words meaning “no” to each of these areas. The design draws from
South Korea’s bright and approachable visual culture to balance the seriousness of the topic with a welcoming tone. The website includes four pages: a homepage, a history/timeline, a current discussion section, and a page for involvement, with subtle animations throughout.
